WHAT TO EXPECT...
Come as you are...
If church is a new experience or a regular habit for you, we encourage you to come as you are. Some dress up a bit, others don't. Some have things relatively together, others worry that things are falling apart. The fact is, we ALL need God's help; that's why we come. So if you are open to a God who persistently loves you and people who genuinely care, expect to find both here.
Sunday Service: 10:00 am
Servie will be available on Live-stream by 10:00 am Sunday mornings.
WHO WE ARE
Our Mission
The reason we as a church exist and everything we do is to...
"Glorify God by making disciples who make disciples in relational environments."
Jesus intentionally made disciples in relational environments. At Roxbury, we want to follow Jesus' method and model shown in Matthew 4:19, when Jesus said, "Come follow me and I will make you fishers of people."
Within this verse, we see the definition of a disciple as one who is committed to:
Our Background
Roxbury began in 1952 and relocated in 1962 to our current location.
We are non-denominational in two ways:
1. Jesus prayed that His followers would be in unity (John 17).
2. There is no structural "hiearchy" above the local church.
We are a part of a fellowship known as: "Christain Churches/Churches of Christ." Historically we grew out of what's been called the "Resoration Movement"... originally devoted to reaching the lost through mission and uniting the church based on "essentials."
OUR STAFF
Jon Grice

He was raised in a Christian home, coming to faith early and recommitting himself as a follower of Jesus as a Junior in High School. He has been serving in pastoral ministry for over 30 years, many of them at Roxbury. UNITY
We believe that we must be united in the essentials of our faith, while in non-essential matters there is freedom to disagree.
In all things, we practice love (Ephesians 4:2-6).
GOD
We believe in an eternal God who has always existed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1-2, John 1:1,14, Titus 3:4-7).
JESUS
We believe in Jesus--God come in the flesh, who is the only Savior and Lord, having died for our sins according to the scriptures, was buried and raised on the 3rd day according to the scriptures (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, 1 Corinthians 15:3-7).
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is God Himself encouraging, guiding and transforming us in the way of Christ (2 Corinthians 13:14).
We believe that God, through His Spirit, calls the people He saves into discipleship with Christ.
THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. As a result, it is entirely authoritative and practical for "teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (Psalm 119; 2 Timothy 3:14-17)
OUR PROBLEM
We believe that though all human beings are created in the image of God and therefore valuable to God, sin has separated us from our perfect Creator (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; 6:23).
GOD'S SOLUTION
We believe that God desires a personal relationship with every human being (Luke 15; 1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9).
We believe that salvation from our sin and for transformation is found only in Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 4:12).
We believe that salvation is a free gift received by personal faith and repentance which is confessed in Christian baptism (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-5, 23).
We believe the Spirit transforms the people He saves into the likeness of Christ (Luke 9:23; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18).
THE CHURCH
We believe the church is the family of God and the light of the world (Ephesians 2:19; 4:4-6; 5:8-10; 1 Peter 2:4-9).
We believe that every Christian is a disciple (follower), equipped by God's Spirit with specific gifts and sent into their world to love God, love people and make disciples. We don't all do the same thing but we do serve the same God, are members of the same Body and are empowered by the same Spirit (1 Corinthians 12).
FUTURE HOPE
We believe that Jesus will return and make all things new (Acts 1:11; 2 Peter 3: 8-14; Revelation 21:1-5).
