To whom it may concern,
My name is Jimmy Coyle. I have been partnering in ministry in Ashland, Illinois for ten years as the preaching minister. I preach every Sunday, even via video while I am away. This is one of the ways the church has been a good steward of God’s resources. I have always written my own sermons and sermon series. These messages, I pray over and start preparing around a year or more in advance. I typically preach through a specific “book” or “letter” of the Bible. If, I do a topical series, it will be a series that is theologically based, or church related, (i.e.) “Church Leadership,” or “The Holy Spirit.” I have taught the adult Sunday School class for ten years. I currently lead our youth program (CREW.) Over the last ten years, I have assisted in other areas of the Children’s ministry when the need has arrived.
I have over twenty years of ministry experience. I spent fourteen years as a youth minister in both Indiana and Illinois. I have been in my current position of senior minister since July of 2013. Many of my years within ministry I have had to be a “Paul” and be a “tent maker.” Several ministries were big in heart but not in the ability to pay a salary that would sustain a minister and his family. So, I balanced ministry with a job that supplemented my ministry.
I am married to my wife Jennifer, who is from Illinois. We have four boys who keep us going. James will be fourteen in July. Micah just turned twelve in December. Aiden will be eleven next month. Reagan or “Ray” will be seven in October. I am very active with school activities and community activities. The local youth association and cub scouts are just a couple examples of those areas of involvement. I have found building relationships through school activities and community activities my boys are involved, help to create natural opportunities to build relationships, share my faith and invite people to church and church activities.
I am a “Hoosier” by birth. But, my citizenship is in heaven. I love GOD, the Church, my family, sports, camping and spending time with friends.
I am praying that you find the man God has called to be leading at your church. Please pray for me as well. If it is God’s will for us to meet and interview, I do look forward to that day when we might meet.
Blessings in Christ,
Jimmy Coyle
